About BOCCIA

Boccia is a sport that was devised for people with severe cerebral palsy or similar severe limb functional disabilities born in Europe and is an official Paralympic event.

Competitors either throw, roll, or hit another ball using six balls of red and blue, and compete to get them as close as they can to a white ball called a jack ball (target ball).

Even if the competitor can’t throw the ball due to a severe disability, he can still participate by using an assistive device, such as a ramp, and communicate his intentions to the caregiver.

The competition is divided into classes without a distinction between men and women, and there are individual battles and team battles (2 vs. 2 pair matches and 3 vs. 3 team matches).
